Your Safecation Guide to Georgia’s Rome

Use these tips to travel safely around Georgia’s Rome!

With our diverse attractions and historic charm, Rome invites visitors from all places to explore this unique city. Best known for its seven hills and three rivers, Rome has something for everyone to enjoy. Visitors can shop at one-of-a-kind boutiques in historic downtown, enjoy delicious cuisine at our local restaurants and explore the scenic walks along the river. Masks are required in all public places in the City of Rome. Here are some ways you can safely explore our beautiful town!

Get Outside

Soak up fresh Georgia’s Rome air and practice social distancing! Our outdoor opportunities are amazing!

-For some of the best views of Georgia’s Rome, visit Myrtle Hill! This beautiful, historic cemetery sits atop Myrtle Hill at the confluence of the Etowah, Oostanaula and Coosa rivers. Take our Myrtle Hill Cemetery Tree Tour  and discover over 35 different species of trees.

-Looking to find your inner peace during all the chaos? Visit the Rome Labyrinth. Walking a labyrinth is a form of meditation where you’ll find peace in the walk and the surrounding landscape. We consider it one of Rome’s hidden gems!

-Tread on one of our many trails! From our newest Martha Berry Trail to our very well-known Heritage Trail System, to historic Jackson Hill, each one offers miles of Rome beauty.

-Enjoy the colorful scenes of our gardens such as the As Time Goes by Garden, located near our iconic Clocktower, with flowers such as camellias, drift and coral drift roses, gold mound spireas and more!

-Speaking of nature in its truest form, head over to Rolater Park in Cave Spring. Fill your mug (or bring a jug to fill) with the freshest spring water from the namesake Cave. While in town, you’ll also enjoy dining and shopping in the town square.
