Stranger Things-Themed Adventures

Myrtle Hill Cemetery – A Quiet Escape from the Upside Down

Like the cemetery in Stranger Things’ Hawkins, Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Rome is quiet, serene, and full of character. Established in 1857, it is the resting place of over 20,000 individuals, including Civil War soldiers and First Lady Ellen Axson Wilson, and perched atop one of Rome’s seven hills, it offers panoramic views of downtown Rome and the surrounding valleys. The back of the cemetery even evokes scenes from the show, though filming never took place here.

Jackson Hill – Your Mental Retreat

Jackson Hill Trail System

Max found her strength and clarity through “Running Up That Hill” in Stranger Things, a run or ride up Jackson Hill in Rome offers a real-world escape. With 5 miles of rolling hills and scenic views, it’s the perfect spot to clear your mind, recharge, and enjoy nature—just minutes from downtown.

Rome Clocktower – A Landmark Worth Climbing

rome clocktower

Just like the clock in Stranger Things that keeps appearing at key moments, the Rome Clocktower is a recurring symbol—but in a much brighter, welcoming way. As Rome’s iconic landmark, it anchors the city with charm and history, offering a perfect stop to admire the architecture, take photos, and appreciate a real-life “Hawkins-style” landmark without the Upside Down drama. Visitors can tour the historic tower and climb to the top, recalling the show’s iconic radio tower scenes, and enjoy sweeping views of Rome.
