The Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism in partnership with the Myrtle Hill/Oak Hill Memorial Association will host the annual “Where Romans Rest” on Sunday, October 15. “Sunday in the Cemetery” will be a new take on the annual tours, featuring stories in the round in the original section where many notable Romans reside.

In the Victorian era, cemeteries were often considered a public park. Sunday afternoons would find families enjoying a picnic or an afternoon stroll through the cemetery. This year’s tours will reflect that nostalgia. Surrounded by beautiful cemetery architecture, symbolism and one of the best views of Rome, patrons are asked to bring a folding chair or picnic blanket.
