The AdventHealth ECO Greenway is Rome’s popular paved, multi-use riverfront trail system that winds through historic Downtown, connecting dining, shopping, parks, and attractions. Its smooth surface makes it ideal for walking, running, and especially biking.
Notes: The portion of the paved path between Burwell Creek and the Rome Floyd ECO Center, is the oldest portion of the trail, and does contain some bumpy trail from tree roots. Trail locations closest to the river may flood or become muddy after periods of heavy rain.
Trail History
Rome’s rivers and surrounding train tracks once served as the main thoroughfare for transportation. Each section of the trail is named for the history of the area. Interpretive signs along the trail identify historic landmarks and share Rome’s history and cultural development.
