Rocky Mountain Recreation is a beautiful public fishing area in Rome located close to the Chattahoochee National Forest and features 3 lakes with great fishing and a beach for swimming. Enjoy the outdoors with bike trails, hiking trails, geocaching, archery and wildlife viewing. Make it a weekend and enjoy camping.
Fishing
- Fish Species: Largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, crappie, hybrid striped-white bass.
- Three lakes include Antioch Lake West, Antioch Lake East and Heath Lake
- Heath Lake is only open the first 10 days of each month for fishing
- A valid Georgia Fishing License is required to fish on this area
- Concrete boat ramps and fishing jetties
Amenities
- Public beach for swimming (no lifeguard on duty)
Please note: swimming is only permitted on the public beach, it is not allowed anywhere else on any of the lakes

Fee: A daily parking is required for all visitors: $5

- An Annual Pass ($30) is available by mail order. Get details
- The Georgia State Park’s Pass is not accepted at Rocky Mountain PFA. Rocky Mountain PFA parking permit required (one per vehicle). WMA license is not required.
