Student Writing Contest Details
Do you have a story to tell about the place you call home? We’re inviting students across Rome and Floyd County to share their voice, creativity, and local pride in our “Unearth the Story of Floyd County” writing contest!
Write a poem, short story, or personal reflection inspired by a historic place right here in Floyd County. Think about places that tell a story about our community—past or present. This could be a meaningful experience you’ve had, fascinating facts you’ve learned, or simply what you love most about a special location.
This contest is presented by the Rome-Floyd Planning Department, Floyd County Library, City of Rome and Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism in celebration of Historic Preservation Month and America250.
