Stranger Things-Film Locations

Stranger Things “Creel” House

Claremont House aka Creel House in Rome GA

One of the most chilling locations in Stranger Things, the Creel House is right here in Rome, Georgia! This iconic home played a major role in Season 4 & 5 and is instantly recognizable to fans. Stop by to snap photos, admire the eerie architecture, and soak in the atmosphere—but don’t worry, this version comes with no grandfather clock nightmares. It’s a must-see first stop on the trail and a highlight for any Stranger Things fan!

Berry College – “Pennhurst Mental Hospital”

Ford building Berry College

Explore Berry College, where the legendary Ford Buildings served as Pennhurst Mental Hospital in Season 4. With scenic trails and rolling hills, it’s the perfect place to pedal like Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will, explore the campus, and snap a selfie in front of this iconic filming location. Relive a bit of the show while enjoying the beauty and adventure of this historic campus!

Strange Adventures

Myrtle Hill Cemetery – A Quiet Escape from the Upside Down

myrtle hill cemetery view

Like the cemetery in Stranger Things’ Hawkins, Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Rome is quiet, serene, and full of character. Established in 1857, it is the resting place of over 20,000 individuals, including Civil War soldiers and First Lady Ellen Axson Wilson, and perched atop one of Rome’s seven hills, it offers panoramic views of downtown Rome and the surrounding valleys. The back of the cemetery even evokes scenes from the show, though filming never took place here.

Rome Clocktower – A Landmark Worth Climbing

rome clocktower

Just like the clock in Stranger Things that keeps appearing at key moments, the Rome Clocktower is a recurring symbol—but in a much brighter, welcoming way. As Rome’s iconic landmark, it anchors the city with charm and history, offering a perfect stop to admire the architecture, take photos, and appreciate a real-life “Hawkins-style”  landmark without the Upside Down drama.

Visitors can tour the historic tower and climb to the top (recalling the show’s iconic radio tower scenes) and enjoy sweeping views of Rome.

Jackson Hill & Rome Labyrinth- Your Mental Retreat

Max found her strength and clarity through “Running Up That Hill”; a run or ride up Jackson Hill offers 5 miles of undulating hills surrounded by nature. At the base of the hill is the Rome Labyrinth, a real-world escape through meditation and the only labyrinth within 50 miles – the perfect spot to clear your mind, recharge, and enjoy nature—just minutes from downtown.

Cave Spring – Walk Into the “Upside Down”

This family-friendly limestone cave is the perfect place to explore and chill like Max and Holly as part of your Stranger Things Rome adventure. Of course it’s not really the upside down, but this cave sure feels similar to the one in the show! It is open daily from Memorial Day through early August.
