FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
New artists sought for Spring Art Market
ROME, GA. — Local artisans, authors and food producers are encouraged to apply for the opportunity to show and sell handmade wares at the third annual Spring Art Market, April 11 and 12, 2014 at the Rome Civic Center.
The application process has now been opened up to vendors who have never before participated in the indoor-outdoor event.
The Spring Art Market will again feature handmade jewelry, photography, fine arts, pottery, turned wood, canned goods and more, all created locally. Artists will be chosen by a juried panel.
Last year’s arts and crafts festival showcased nearly 70 vendors and drew over 2,000 patrons.
The market is sponsored by the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Last Stop Gift Shop.
“Every year we look forward to meeting new artists and welcoming back fan favorites,” said Charlene Mathis, gift shop manager. “I think sometimes we forget about the wealth of talent close by, and it’s just so great to be able to share that talent with the community at our Art Market series.”
The market will open to the public on Friday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Parking and admission to the Spring Art Market is free. A variety of different homemade hot and cold meals will be available for purchase for lunch and dinner over the two days.
Vendor applications are available online at www.RomeArtMarket.com or in person at the Last Stop Gift Shop inside the Rome-Floyd Visitor Center at 402 Civic Center Drive in Rome.
