Bungee Jump off Clocktower

Posted April 1, 2023 by Sarah Williams in News

The Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism is now offering a giant leap of fun! Bungee jump off of Rome’s most famous landmark!

Starting today, you can purchase tickets for the unique opportunity to bungee jump off of the Rome Clocktower! All proceeds from ticket sales will support continued upkeep of this historic landmark. Adventure goers will enjoy an up-close and personal experience with the Rome Clocktower as they plummet off the side of the historic structure. “It’s exhilarating,” said Mary Noble who works for the bungee equipment supplier and performed the first official jump to test the equipment. “I’ve visited Rome many times, but the views while jumping from the Rome Clocktower are just incredible!”

After chasing the adrenaline rush, learn the rich history of the Rome through the interior murals. The Rome Clocktower was originally constructed as a water tower in 1871 and stands approximately 104 feet high atop Neely Hill. The clock was made by the E. Howard Clock Company of Boston, Massachusetts and was installed in 1872. Bungee jumpers will get a great view of Rome from the top of the Clocktower before and during the jump.

All those wanting to bungee jump can sign up with Wolfe’s Professional Bungee Jumping, who has been contracted to facilitate the jumps. You must be at least 18 years of age to sign up.

To sign up, call: 1-800-APRIL FOOLS!!

Fun Facts! Mr. James Noble, Sr. of Cornwall, England led the construction of the water tower, now the Rome Clocktower. He had several daughters, one of their names was Mary Noble. While you are not allowed to bungee jump off the Rome Clocktower (because it would not be safe at all to do so), you can take a tour! Clocktower tours begin today (weather permitting) and will continue on the first Saturday of each month until September. Purchase tickets
