Georgia’s Rome is offering many events to commemorate and honor our soldiers this Memorial Day weekend; we’ve also gathered other happenings for while you are in town for the extended weekend.

Discover native animal and plant species. View live animals and explore the local wetland area. Learn about the local ecology and the importance of protecting area rivers and natural resources. Entry and parking are free!

This Memorial Weekend, take time to learn about local military personnel who have served our country. The history center has several military displays from the Spanish-American war to current conflicts. Find out how the war changed Rome and how Rome effected the war. Admission is free

 

 

 

 

An Evening of Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue with Juan Carlos Escudero

Rome City Auditorium

World renowned Ecuadorian pianist, Juan Carlos Escudero, joins the Rome Symphony Orchestra to perform Gershwin’s beloved masterpiece “Rhapsody in Blue”. Other Gershwin works to be performed include “Strike up the Band”, “Funny Face” and “Lady be Good.” The Rome Symphony Youth Orchestra will partner with RSO musicians for “Strike up the Band”. Join us for this live concert in the Rome City Auditorium!
