Berry College Campus Reopens for Outdoor Recreation – Limited Time
Now – January 10
We know you been missing the beauty of Berry as much as we have! But yay, the campus is reopening to the public from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 through Jan. 10, 2021!!! (with the exception of Dec. 5). The campus will be accessible for outdoor recreation use only; there will be no building or restrooms access.
Covid Safety: Visitors will be temperature-checked when they drive through the gate. The campus will close again to the public Jan. 10 when the Spring Semester begins for the health and safety of the campus community.

Downtown Rome invites you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the holidays every Thursday evening between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve! Our downtown businesses will be staying open late to give you another chance to finish that holiday shopping! Come #shopandstroll with us! There will be deals and specials throughout downtown, along with some holiday fun!

Victorian Christmas Tours
December 11-12, and 18-19
Time: Beginning at 4PM every half hour and ending at 7:30PM
Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum will ring in the Christmas season with its seasonal tours sharing a glimpse into holiday celebrations of the late 19th century.
The Oak Hill mansion’s holiday decorations of greenery and ribbons reflect Martha Berry’s childhood memories and the Victorian era’s traditions and tastes. The tours will highlight the customs that would have been familiar to Berry and her family. Guests will hear how Christmas came to be celebrated in the United States and learn about the unique customs found in Southern households of the time. Purchase tickets here.

Drive Thru Playtime with Santa
December 12, 2020
Time: 2PM to 4PM
Ridge Ferry Park
Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation has a special plan to welcome the holiday season with a drive thru Playtime With Santa event set for Saturday, Dec. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Ridge Ferry Park.
Santa will be on hand to wave to everyone as will his elves and several mascots, including RFPRA’s own Parky and Rex. The first 900 kids age 12 and under will receive either a free football, basketball or soccer ball as well as a special goody bag while supplies last. There is a limit of two balls per vehicle. Pet Photos with Santa

ARF (Animal Rescue Foundation of Rome Floyd County) is offering Pet Photos with Santa! $10 donation per photo. Photo packages will also be available for purchase. All photos will be captured with Santa outside. For more information call: 706.622.1098

A Victorian Christmas Trolley Tour
December 19, 2020
Time: 6PM, 7PM, 8PM
Tour departs from Rome Area History Center, 305 Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161
Please join us for a trip back in time with A Victorian Christmas Trolley Tour of historic downtown Rome! Discover the amazing beauty of the Between the Rivers Historic District all decked out for the Christmas season. Hear curious bits of local holiday lore and history from the warmth of the Roman Rose Trolley while you enjoy the beautiful decorations adorning the historic homes along our route. A costumed guide will be on board to share local history and answer questions but be prepared for special step on visitors from the past. You never know who will visit us from Rome’s gilded age.
Covid Safety: Masks are required, the trolley will only be sold at 50% capacity to allow for social distancing.
