Marriott Bistro

One of the popular flatbreads, plus their awesome fries with a variety of dipping sauces

Now I know what you’re thinking, “Why would I go to the Marriott Bistro to eat, when Downtown Rome has some truly exceptional restaurants?” The answer is simple: THERE ARE SOME GOOD EATS AT THIS BISTRO

Whether you’re relaxing in the lobby and looking for something casual, or you’re on the go and need something fast, there’s a little bit of something for everyone. Let’s go ahead and clear it up, but it should be mentioned that anyone can go inside the Courtyard Marriott and order from the Bistro, and they even encourage it!

What are some good things to get when I go, Mr. Foodie?

Glad you asked. I wholeheartedly recommend literally any of the flatbreads, especially the seasonal ones. You can’t really go wrong with the french fries and dip trio, but what really stands out (and is my personal favorite), are the bistro breakfast sandwich and the (millennial stereotypical) avocado toast. If I’m in a rush some mornings, because let’s be honest, tourism waits for no one, I like to pop on over to the Marriott Bistro on my way in and grab one of the delectable and protein packed breakfasts. The sandwich consists of cage-free scrambled eggs, applewood smoked bacon, aged white cheddar, and arugula + avocado mash on a toasted brioche roll. The avocado toast uses olive oil, lemon, flaky sea salt on multigrain toast with pickled red onions, roasted tomatoes, a hard-cooked egg and lemon-dressed arugula. Get either to put a real pep in your morning step!

Yum, but what I don’t want breakfast?

You can always get one of the aforementioned flatbreads, such as the classic margherita or bbq chicken, both of which are fantastic. Say you want something a bit more substantial, then the bistro burger is right up your alley. Served with gruyere, lettuce, tomato and garlic aioli on a brioche roll, this burger is juicy and delicious.

Okay, this all sounds good, anything else?

Of course, the Marriott Bistro comes with a fully equipped bar and features several distinct craft beers. I’m really happy during Happy Hour with a Black Cherry Old Fashioned  or a Coconut Collins. We already know what an old-fashioned is, but the coconut collins takes a tom collins to the next level and transports you to a beach vacation with plenty of coconutty goodness!

Also, keep on the lookout for free concerts on the patio overlooking Rome’s picturesque rivers. Every third Friday, you can find a cool concert with talented artists and food specials while you lounge with relaxing views of downtown!
