November is Native American Heritage Month and Georgia’s Rome has several events that celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, histories and important contributions of Native people.
Tour The Chieftain’s Museum & Major Ridge Home to learn about Cherokee history in Rome and how Major Ridge played a significant role in the events that deeply affect the Cherokee Nation. The museum will host a Free Day with traditional Cherokee storytelling and portrayals of historical figures on Saturday, November 3rd from 10am-2pm on the museum campus.
Take a short trip to Cave Spring, to see the historic Vann’s Cabin another Cherokee landmark, and immerse yourself in more local Cherokee history in the heart of Vann’s Valley.
