Over 30 years ago a man had the idea to photograph the one-of-a-kind doors he found nestled around Rome. These doors offered insight into not only their homes, but the history of the town itself in their architecture and style. He took pictures of them and carefully created a collage showing them off in all their state. But time passed and all of the posters ran out. Unable to acquire anymore and incapable of recreating the original, a photographer was commissioned to create a new poster to again capture their essence and the lost vision of the originals. Therefore the Doors of Rome poster by Mark Law was born.
While it tips its hat to the originals, Mark’s creation can more than stand on its own. Since then he has created a grand collection of posters featuring the Windows of Rome and the Doors of Berry. He most recently released the brand new Church Doors of Rome, available now. All of his posters are also available in the ever-popular postcard sized edition.
