Downtown Rome’s newest kid on the block, Mountain’s Ice Cream, serves up hand-scooped ice cream. The perfect way to beat the heat in this summer.
If you haven’t been to to Broad Street’s newest ice cream shop, it’s a great way to cool down on a summer day, or just satisfy that sweet tooth craving. Distinguishing itself from the other ice cream offerings Downtown, Mountain’s Ice Cream only offers hand-scooped flavors only and they make their own waffle cones in house. Don’t be surprised to be hit with that waffle batter smell as soon as you walk through the door.
At Mountain’s Ice Cream the scoops are generous and when I say the dessert is creamy I mean CREAMY. For my visit, I picked up a double scoop of Key Lime and Chocolate Cherry, because I wasn’t in a particularly fudgy mood that day. The Key Lime includes that delicious tartness throughout each bite and the other comes off as a richer Cherry Garcia from Ben & Jerry’s. Both flavors were great for the day and I decided to walk along the river whilst eating them.
With the weather already breaking 90+, they couldn’t have picked a better time to open, and we’ll see what’s in store for them in Downtown Rome. For now, take a stroll on over and grab yourself a scoop or two. Mountain’s Ice Cream is located at 231 Broad St., next to Craze Boutique and Johnny’s Pizza.
Nic, inquiring minds want to know just WHERE on Broad Street is this new ice cream Mecca?
