Posted August 15, 2017 by Georgia's Rome in Events

Just about everyone has eclipse fever and we should! It’s the first eclipse viewable in America in this lifetime. While Rome itself isn’t in the path of totality (the large swathe of area where you can see the total eclipse), we will still have a spectacular view so take part in these fun viewing events for this almost once in a lifetime experience!

Berry College Eclipse Viewing Party – Aug. 21 – 1 – 4 p.m. at Valhalla Stadium

Berry College will host an eclipse viewing at the Valhalla Football Stadium on campus. The eclipse will begin at approximately 1:03 p.m. with a full eclipse at 2:34 p.m. This event is open to the public and offers a wide open view of the eclipse for all to see!

Eclipse Viewing Party at the Rome/Floyd E.C.O. Center – Aug. 21 – 1 – 3 p.m.

The ECO Center will be hosting its own eclipse viewing party for people to watch. Join us

Hi Nic! Thank you for this article! My kids and I are very excited about the eclipse! I didn’t know several places were hosting viewing parties! We got our eclipse glasses today!

  2. David Payne, August 17, 2017:

The eclipse will NOT be completely total, only some 90+%. Not a total but fascinating to watch with authorized NASA eclipse glasses.
