The calendar in Rome, Georgia is always packed with family fun and entertainment and since St. Patrick’s Day falls during the week this year, we are celebrating the weekend before and after.  Here is a list of events we’ve pulled together so you’ll know where to find the fun whenever you celebrate!

Week of St. Patrick’s Day 

241st Big Fibbers Festival – March 15 – 17

A three-day annual storytelling festival in Rome, featuring storytelling from local, regional, and national tellers, a storytelling workshop, a tall-tale contest for grown-ups, and a storytelling contest for those seventeen and under.

“Murder at the Grand Gatsby Speakeasy” – March 16

The Murder Mystery Dinner “Murder at the Grand Gatsby Speakeasy” is at the height of prohibition in 1920s Chicago, there was a mob war brewing between the South Side Gangsters and the Northern Chicago Mob Outfit. 6th Annual Ginger Pride Parade – March 18
Starting at 11 a.m. the 7th Annual Ginger Pride Parade will take place along Broad Street in Downtown Rome. The parade is a lighthearted approach to anti-bullying where adults and kids are promoting non-violence and humor to deflect bullying. The parade is free and is fun for the whole family.

Nightlife 

Off Broad Lounge is taking orders for St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef and Cabbage Plate. Plates are $12.00 per person. Come celebrate with us and enjoy the traditional Irish meal! Plates will be available on Friday March 17th at 5:00pm. Plates must be purchased in advance at Off Broad or call 706-378-4837.

Remember that each of the bars from Dark Side of the Moon to Rome City Brewing Co. will have St. Patty’s Day deals and drinks!
