FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Public Invited to Attend Georgia USA Gymnastics State Championships
Rome, Ga. — The Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority and Rome Aerials Gymnastics Team invites the public to attend the 2015 Georgia USA Gymnastics Level 7 & 8 State Championships on March 27-29 at The Forum.
Over 450 gymnasts from around the state will compete for a chance to qualify at regionals. Seven sessions of competition will be held over a three day period where gymnasts will compete on floor, beam, bar and vault.
The public is invited to watch the championships to be held Friday, March 27 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sessions will run continuously during meet times. Spectators may come for select sessions or for the entire day. Entry for each day is $10 for adults and $4 for children 12 & under.
Matt Zollitsch, RFPRA Gymnastics Head Coach says, “Level 7-8 Gymnastics offers a high level of competition that is exciting to watch. It takes a tremendous amount of training and skill to make it to this level of competitive gymnastics.”
The Rome Aerials Gymnastics Team continues to grow and become a state, regional and national powerhouse. The 2014 team introduced the first Level 10 Rome Aerials gymnast, Kendall Arasmith. She was the 2014 Georgia State Beam Champion and went on to compete in regionals. The Rome Aerials competitive gymnastics team is coached by Matt Zollitsch, Rana Pyle, Sarah Grimes, Hannah LaRue, Alex Brizzi and Taylor Arasmith.
