FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  NAIA ticket holders invited to pre-game street party Saturday

ROME, GA. — The Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau (GRCVB) is inviting all ticket holders of the 58th Annual Russell Athletic-NAIA Football National Championship to a public street party before the game. The FanZONE street party will get attendees pumped up and ready to cheer for their favorite team from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, outside of the front gates of Historic Barron Stadium in Downtown Rome.

The FanZONE will provide pre-game entertainment activities to out-of-town visitors and locals attending the game.

Fans from each team get into a friendly and spirited dance competition at last year’s pre-game FanZONE event.

J.D. the DJ out of Atlanta will return this year with party music, hula hoop contests, cornhole tournaments, team spirit and dance-off challenges. Cheerleaders from the competing NAIA football teams will be on-site to pep the group and take pictures with fans in a free silly photo booth.

Local restaurant Kaleido-Sno will be at the FanZONE with their signature food truck serving up New Orleans-style food and ice cones.

The FanZONE is sponsored by the GRCVB.

The 58th Annual Russell Athletic-NAIA Football National Championship will kick-off at 4:30 p.m. on game day. The Grand View University Vikings will play against the University of the Cumberlands Patriots, earning the first football championship for either of the competing teams.

More information is available at www.RomeGeorgia.org or by calling the Rome-Floyd Visitor Center at 800-444-1834. Tickets to the championship game are available at www.ForumEvents.org.
