The Georgia’s Rome Welcome Center and Gift Shop on Jackson Hill is housed in a historic 1901 train depot with an attached red caboose. The gift shop carries the largest selection of Georgia’s Rome souvenirs and locally-made art, literature and food products. There are several points of interest to explore on Jackson Hill.
RV Dump Station
An RV Dump Station is located on Jackson Hill across the parking lot from the welcome center to service area campers.
Note: The station is closed during the Annual Winter Art Market held the first weekend of December and Spring Art Market held the first weekend of April.
Historic Downtown Rome at the Rome Area History Center

The Georgia’s Rome Welcome Center and Gift Shop in historic Downtown Rome is housed in the same building as the Rome Area History Center. The vibrant district is full of local shops and eateries. Visit the Rome Area History Center to learn about local history; admission is always free. This gift shop also features unique finds for the history center.
