Rome Farmers Markets

Looking for some fresh, locally grown produce to stock up on? Luckily in Georgia’s Rome, we have several growers offering fresh produce and goods.

Rome Grown – Rome Made Farmers Market – 402 Civic Center Drive

Every Friday, from April through September, the Last Stop Gift Shop offers fresh and locally grown goods through its “Rome Grown, Rome Made.” Come by and take the opportunity to buy fresh, healthy produce, while at the same time supporting your local community! The market features fresh produce, jellies, jams and flavored salts from Nan Selman. You can find the market open on Fridays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Map

Berry College Mini Market – Krannert Center, Berry College

Berry Student Enterprises has begun regular farmers market hours on campus featuring items from all enterprises including Jersey Milk cheeses, Berry Beef, Berry Bees and Berry Eggs to name a few. You can catch them every Wednesday from 11am to 1pm!

Ridge Ferry Farmer’s Market – 363 Riverside Pkwy NE

The market opens for the season starting June 3 and runs through Oct. 7. It is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and features locally grown produce, fresh cut flowers, organic produce, baked goods, canned goods, jellies, herbs and hand-made craft items. The market is held inside the pavilion attached to the ECO Center. Map

Lowrey Farms Market – 2416 Turkey Mountain Road

Lowrey Farms will be open to the public to purchase locally grown produce from April through October. Open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. where you can pick your own blueberries, sweet corn, watermelons, cantaloupes, tomatoes, okra, squash, peas, beans, peppers and other vegetables. You can also get all natural Angus beef and whole hog sausage.

    Thanks for this info, Nic. I was trying to find a local Rome-area grass-fed natural chicken and/or beef vendor. Would you know of any in the Rome area? Or which market might sell? I live in Springfield, MO and, here, the vendors bring freezer meats and it is great. Or a farmer that sells? Thanks for any info you might have, or where I might find the info.

    Adriana Fincher runs Timberland Farm. They sell a lot of grass fed meats. Of course all natural (because what isn’t natural?) You can find her at Rockmart Farmer’s Market
