Barnwell Chapel

Completed and dedicated on November 11, 1911, and beautifully renovated in 2019, Barnwell Chapel is a historic and charming venue named after Berry’s first architect, Capt. John Barnwell. Originally serving as both a chapel and classroom building, it has also housed a study hall, music studio, library, and store. In 1920, handcrafted pews—made in the school shop—replaced the original school desks, and the altar, also crafted on campus, was a gift from the College Class of 1951. This timeless space offers a warm, intimate setting perfect for weddings and special ceremonies.
