Victorian Era District – Between the Rivers

Rome is home to Georgia’s largest Victorian-era district, rich in history, charm, and beautifully preserved architecture. Nestled between the Etowah and Oostanaula rivers, this area marks the site of Rome’s founding in 1834 and was once the hub of early business and industry. Though much of the city was burned during the Civil War, Rome rose from the ashes, rebuilding into the vibrant community it is today.

It’s a joy to stroll through this picturesque neighborhood, where tree-lined streets are dotted with stunning historic homes and landmarks.
