This pocket, neighborhood park offers walking trails, open green space, and picnic tables with views of the creek and local wildlife.
The park is named in honor of Bill Covington, a Vietnam War veteran and former Rome resident who attended Darlington School before being killed in action. His family donated the land to Darlington, which later gifted it to the City of Rome. The park sits on the former site of Anchor Duck Mill, which operated from 1900 to 1958 and was known for producing heavy-duty cotton duck fabric.
