ROME, GA. — The Sulzbacher Roman Holiday, the City of Rome’s public excursion boat, is now open to book for the 2015 season for private excursions. Tickets are on sale for public Rolling on the River tour scheduled for May.
The 45-passenger vessel is available for rental by private individuals, parties, and groups for cruises along the Oostanaula and Coosa rivers, which comprise portions of what is often referred to as North America’s most diverse ecosystem.
“Rome’s rivers have served as a backdrop for a myriad of different events on the Sulzbacher Roman Holiday,” says group sales coordinator, Debbie Galloway. “Riverboat cruises are a unique way to celebrate any occasion.”
Cruise options are unlimited from ecological tours to sunset cocktail and dinner parties, family reunions, birthday parties and more. Tours can be booked for the months of March through mid December. School and private educational tours are also available and can be combined with a river education experience at the Rome-Floyd E.C.O.Center located in Ridge Ferry Park.
General pricing for a two hour rental begins at $350 for general public; $250 for non-profits and $200 for school groups. School groups may also opt to add the river education tour of The Rome-Floyd E.C.O. Center, available for an additional $2.50 per student
The Rolling on the River Sunday Cruise tours will return for the 2015 season on Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m. to time with National Travel and Tourism Week. Tickets for the 2-hour tour are on sale now at the Rome-Floyd Visitor Center and is limited to 45 passengers. Tickets are $8 for adults, and $5 for children 12 and under.
The Rolling on the River Sunday cruises will be held the first Sunday of every month May through August. The themes for future tours will be announced at a later date.
