FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Roman Holiday Riverboat Open for 2015 Bookings, Captains Needed

ROME, GA. — The Sulzbacher Roman Holiday, the City of Rome’s public excursion boat, is now open for 2015 bookings. Excursions are scheduled during the months of March through November.

In 2014, the Sulzbacher Roman Holiday completed over 65 cruises and serviced over 3,000 people.  The 45-passenger vessel is available for rental by private individuals, parties, and groups for cruises along the Oostanaula and Coosa rivers, which comprise portions of what is often referred to as North America’s most diverse ecosystem.

Cruise options are unlimited and include ecological tours, Civil War tours, sunset cocktails, dinner parties, family reunions and more. General pricing for rental begins at $350 for two hours. School and private educational tours are also available in conjunction with the Rome-Floyd E.C.O. Center, Rome’s river education facility located in Ridge Ferry Park. Riverboat rental begins at $200 for school groups for a minimum of two hours. Tours are available for an additional $2.50 per student.

The Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau (GRCVB) is currently seeking certified or certifiable Captains for river boat excursions. The GRCVB is taking applications now and will help qualified candidates with the process to attain the necessary US Coast Guard certification. First Mates and Captains are compensated for their time.
