Chieftains Museum  

Cherokee Carvers:  Tradition Renewed.  June 29 - Aug. 31

This special exhibit will examine different aspects of late 21st century Cherokee carving.  It will include ritual objects, functional wares and pieces designed to be sold to tourists and collectors.  The exhibitors include both stone and wood carvings and focuses on artists working in Western North Carolina today.  Admission adults-$5.00, senior citizens-$3.00 and students $2.00.


Chieftains Museum  

Cherokee Carver, Freeman Owle.  July 31st, two special programs

Freeman Owle is a Cherokee from North Carolina and one of the featured carvers in the special exhibit, "Cherokee Carvers."  He is also a well known Cherokee Storyteller.  He will be doing carving demonstrations at 1:00.  He will return for a special storytelling program at 3 p.m.  Each program is $5.00 admission or if you want to attend both, you get a discount and its only $8.00!


Bridgepoint Plaza  

First Friday Concert Series continues with "Infinity Show Band"

DeSoto Theatre  

All shows are Friday and Saturday at 8:00pm and Sunday at 2:30pm. Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students. Musical ticket prices are $14 for adults, and $12 for seniors and students.


Downtown Rome  

The classic car cruise in is back for the 2nd year in a row (the 2nd Saturday of each month June - August)! Last year, the success of the cruise-in was outstanding so this year we have kicked it up a notch! On Saturday, June 12th, the first cruise in of the season will feature four bands which are: Jazz Merchants, The Hip Knotics, GA Blues Brothers, and Peachtree Station! In addition to bands and beautiful classic cars, there will be vendors, inflatables for the kiddos, a balloon artist, a 50/50 drawing ($$you could win cash$$), and for classic car owners.....door prizes! You don't want to miss this family fun event!


For this event, a classic car is defined as a car that is 25 years old or older.

Event: Movies on the Meadow featuring "Sweet Home Alabama"

Date: Saturday, August 28

Time: Gates open at 8 p.m. and Movie begins at 9 p.m.

Location: Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum

Enjoy watching "Sweet Home Alabama" under the oaks in the shadow of Oak Hill. This Movies on the Meadow event will be a double-feature as we premiere the student-made film "The Berry Paragon: The Legend of Ford's Watch" prior to showing "Sweet Home Alabama."  Park your car on the meadow, and make sure to pack a picnic dinner and a blanket to enjoy Movies on the Meadow.
