We’ve put together this list of festivals and fairs throughout the year that every traveler needs to see!

Spring Art Market – Rome Civic Center – April 6 & 7

The annual Spring Art Market celebrates Georgia artists, crafters, and growers. With an expanded collection of gifts, foods and outdoor decor, the market will provide you with one-of-a-kind items!

Georgia Steeplechase – Kingston Downs – April 6

Since 1966, the Steeplechase has been Georgia’s premier entertainment and sporting event often referred to as “the best lawn party in Georgia.” This year’s steeplechase will offer racegoers an unforgettable day featuring local bands, food trucks, shopping, wine tastings, and a new kids corral. Racegoers will also enjoy the ever popular Hat Parade and Contest, the terrier races, and opportunity to attend the Chairman’s Pavilion and the Horse, Hound, and Hunt parties.


Downtown Saturday Arts Festival – Downtown Rome – May 4

The first event in the series will be held Saturday, May 5 and encompasses visual art, live music, culinary flavors, and cultural performances including the Ellen Axson Wilson Art Walk, International Festival, Chalk Your Heart Out, singer-songwriters, and local bands.

Cave Spring Baconfest – Rolater Park, Cave Spring – May 4

There will be all types of homemade BACON dishes to “taste” (bacon fudge-yummy), arts and crafts at the community center. If you have a “special” bacon dish you want to prepare – or you want to sell your arts and crafts.

Roman Roast on the River  – Ridge Ferry Park – 

The hottest barbecue competitions in North Georgia returns to Ridge Ferry Park! Join us as bbq teams battle it out to become this year’s Grand Champion!

Cave Spring Arts Festival  – Rolater Park, Cave Spring

A juried fine arts festival complete with music, food and varied art forms, pottery, paintings, glass work, garden art, and metal sculpture.  Staged in Rolater Park at the entrance of the Cave. Spirit of the Sun River Festival – Downtown Rome

Downtown Rome’s Spirit of the Sun River Festival includes 1, 3, and 6-mile Chieftain’s Challenge paddle races for adult recreationists of all ages with the six-mile reserved for elites. As part of the Downtown Saturdays event series the festival will include live music, vendors, fun activities, yoga and SUP demos, an awards ceremony, and the opportunity to enjoy food, drinks, and craft beer from downtown businesses all day.

Rome Balloon Festival – Richard B. Russell Airport

Bringing hot air balloons galore, this new festival is guaranteed to bring out the kid in everyone with fantastic sights and so much more!

Rome River Jam – Ridge Ferry Park

The popular country music concert is known for bringing up-and-coming music stars to Rome and this year could prove true to that tradition.


Cave Spring Motorcycle Rally – Cave Spring

If live music, motorcycles and beautiful country is your scene, then this motorcycle rally is the place to been seen.  Enjoy beautiful Cave Spring; stop at the downtown shops and restaurants for a full weekend of fun. RV camping is available; but be sure to reserve in advance.


Wings Over North Georgia Airshow – Richard B. Russell Airport – Aug. 30 – 31 & Sept. 1

North Georgia’s #1 Family Weekend Presented by Parker Fibernet returns for the 7th consecutive year October 13-14 at Rome’s Russell Regional Airport.

Running Water Powwow – Ridge Ferry Park

Experience the 29th Annual Running Water Powwow Cherokee Homecoming & Ripe Corn Festival on September 1-2, 2018 at Ridge Ferry Park in Rome, Georgia. More than 50 arts and crafts vendors will be setting up tents and selling and demonstrating their crafts over the course of the weekend.

Rome Shakespeare Festival  – Downtown Rome

Rome Shakespeare Festival is growing! In 2019, RSF will be bigger than ever, featuring three mainstage productions, a youth musical, and more!

Rome Beer Festival – Heritage Park

Rome Beerfest is an annual celebration of the art of beer and fundraiser for the Rome Area Council for the Arts.

Cave Spring Pigout – Rolater Park

Have you ever been told that the barbecue you cook is the best around? If so, here’s your chance to show off your cooking skills. In September of 2007 the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) of Cave Spring, Georgia, presented the first barbecue cook off competition called the “Cave Spring Pig-Out.”

Rome International Film Festival – Rome City Auditorium & DeSoto Theatre – Nov. 7 – 10

Founded in 2003, the Rome International Film Festival (RIFF) is northwest Georgia’s signature film festival event. Named as one of MovieMaker Magazine’s “top 20 festivals worth the submission fee,” RIFF is proud to have shared independent films from dozens of countries across the globe with thousands of film fans and filmmakers from near and far over the last 16 years.
