Tis the Season for Holiday Fun!

Ice skating coming to the Forum River Center

Forum on Ice – Nov. 10 – Dec. 29 – Forum River Center

Join us for Rome’s First Ice Skating Rink! The rink will be inside of Forum River Center Arena. Admission to the arena will be free, but there will be a small fee to skate.

Winter Wonderland Carnival & Ice Festival – Nov. 29 – Dec. 2 – Forum River Center

The four day event will include educational and art exhibitions, food vendors, musical and theatrical entertainment, vendor goods, crafts, and overall genial fellowship.

NWGA Winds presents Spirit of the Season – Dec. 1 – Rome City Auditorium – 10 a.m. 

‘Spirit of the Season’ is a family show featuring a mini-production of The Polar Express plus holiday favorites performed by Grand Finale (Rome High School show choir), dancers from The Dance Centre, plus performers from community – all backed by a 12-piece pit orchestra directed by Sam Baltzer. All seats are $5, and tickets are available at Rome Kroger store or at the door. Fun for all ages!

A Clocktower Christmas by the Clocktower Jazz Ensemble – Dec. 1 – Rome City Auditorium – 7:30 p.m.

Holiday tunes are given the jazz treatment by the fabulous Clock Tower Jazz Ensemble directed by Sam Baltzer, with guest vocalists, Shawn McDougal and Keonna Shaw. Tickets available at the Rome Kroger store.

Santa Claus at the Courtyard – Dec. 1 – Courtyard Marriott

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and we have a very special guest lined up! Santa Claus will take time out of his busy schedule to stop by The Courtyard on Saturday, December 1 from 10AM – 2PM. The kids can share their lists, enjoy treats and have photos made of this special occasion!

Trolley Tours of Historic Rome – Dec. 1 – Downtown Rome

The Rome Area Heritage Foundation invites you for a riding tour via the Toonerville Trolley to learn about historic neighborhoods in Rome.   Tours will depart and return from the Downtown Welcome Center located at 300 W 1st Street (back entrance of Rome Area History Museum adjacent to the Town Green/ Forum) at 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 pm. Lessons & Carols – Dec. 1 – Berry College Chapel

Drawn upon the traditions of the Lessons and Carols Services in England, the Berry College Choirs will perform in the beautiful Berry College Chapel. The joyous occasion will feature traditional scripture readings paired with renaissance motets, new compositions, and familiar carols such as O Come, All Ye Faithful and Hark, the Herald Angels Sing.

Christmas in Lindale – Dec. 1 – Gilbreath Park

“Christmas in Lindale 2018 Schedule of Events” Saturday December 1st 2018 – 5th annual Lindale Christmas Parade Parade lineup at 2:30pm Pepperell Primary School Parade at 3pm (Park Avenue to First Baptist) Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in the parade FREE!! There is no sign up, just show up. We ask all participants decorate their entries in a Christmas theme of your choice as long as its appropriate. We welcome bicycles, walkers, candy to be thrown, tractors, antique cars, etc. – From 3-6pm a Arts & Crafts Festival with vendors will set up at the Gilbreath Park. Homemade items and much much more! – 6th Annual “Star Lightning Ceremony” will begin around 5:30pm with the reading of The names of the star at the Gilbreath Center.

Artist Candace Fincher will have loads of framed prints, cards, stocking stuffers, and gifts. You’ll be sure to find SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE on your Christmas list.

Winter Art Market – Dec. 1 & 2 – Rome Civic Center

The annual Winter Art Market celebrates Christmas through the work of Georgia artists, crafters, authors, and growers. With an expanded collection of gift foods and outdoor decor, the market will provide you with one-of-a-kind holiday gifts! Shop Georgia Made, Georgia Grown, from handcrafted necklaces to homemade jams, you’ll find unique gifts for everyone on your list!

Small Town Christmas in the Country – Dec. 1 & 2 – Rolater Park, Cave Spring

Cave Spring’s holiday tradition is back with more vendors than ever before! Come out to Rolater Park and see for yourself all the holiday crafts.

No Place Like ROME for the Holidays – Dec. 4 – Rome City Auditorium

The NWGA WINDS, Rome’s 60-piece concert band directed by Sam Baltzer, will present a wide variety of songs of the season – ranging from the serious to the not-so-serious! All are welcome!

Christmas on the Hill – Dec. 6 – Shorter University

Join us for a festive evening of food, music, and fellowship benefiting Shorter University’s Student Scholarship Fund.

Rome Half Marathon – Dec. 8 – State Mutual Stadium

he Rome Half Marathon, Half Relay, & 5k is here! Races start at State Mutual Stadium on December 8th, 2018 and benefit area high school running programs. Starting and finishing at the Rome Braves Stadium, you’ll enjoy a scenic North Georgia run.

Cave Spring Christmas Parade – Dec. 8 – Cave Spring Square

Cave Spring’s traditional Christmas parade. See a number of unique and fun floats as well as a visit from Santa Claus!

A Bing Crosby Christmas – Dec. 16 – Rome City Auditorium

Broadway veteran Jared Bradshaw (Jersey Boys, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) returns home for Christmas to Rome, GA for an evening of classic tunes from everyone’s favorite crooner, Bing Crosby. A swingin band fills the Rome City Auditorium with all of your favorite holiday hits.

Rome Symphony Orchestra Presents Roman Holiday – Dec. 22 – Rome City Auditorium

An Appalachian Christmas Concert featuring the RSO and bluegrass artists performing southern Christmas favorites.

    The only thing on the calendar on that time will be the Rome Symphony Orchestra “Roman Holiday” concert on Dec. 22
