Downtown Saturdays – Electric Avenue – August 4 – Downtown Rome – Free Event

August’s Downtown Rome Saturday will feature a FREE block party on Broad with live music from 7 pm -10 pm. Electric Avenue will be bringing back the 80’s all night long!
Electric Avenue has been invited to share stages with the likes of Pat Benatar, Kid Rock, and Jimmy Kimmel. They were also bestowed the honor of being the final band to ever perform at Turner Field. A private show for the Atlanta Braves and their Game Day Staff is not something this band takes lightly, let alone being allowed to run the bases!

Soulfest of Rome – August 4 – Ridge Ferry Park

Get ready!!! The K.A.B bringing you a whole lot of SOUUUULLLLLLLL on August 4, for the 3rd Annual Soul Fest of Rome with our headliner, The ZAPP Band.

Downtown Rome’s Guided Tours offer unique insights into Rome’s storied past. Each downtown tour is unique where tour groups are led through Rome’s historic downtown to discover its history and beauty.

Rolling on the River Tour – Aug. 5 – Coosa River & Heritage Park

Rolling on the River public tours are great for all ages. The river tour offers a unique perspective on how Rome’s rivers have shaped the town’s history. All tours depart from Heritage Park in downtown Rome.

Rodeo Rome – Aug. 10 & 11 – Coosa Valley Fair Grounds

Gates open at 6 pm & rodeo starts at 8pm. Come early and enjoy great BBQ and others good eats from our vendors. We will also have fun stuff for the kids! Sanctioned by the International Professional Rodeo Association.

Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular – Aug. 11 – Forum River Center

Surrounded by walls of concert quality sound, experience a mind-expanding journey, driven by cutting-edge effects, high-powered lasers, hi-def-large screen video projection, and special lighting effects.

Corky Kell Classic – Aug. 16 – Barron Stadium

The 2018 MetroPCS Corky Kell Classic marks the third year of the event’s three-day, nine-game lineup. The Corky Kell Classic will kick off the high school football season in Rome with a doubleheader on Thursday, August 16, for the first time at Rome’s Barron Stadium.

29th Annual Running Water Powwow – Sept. 1 – Ridge Ferry Park

Experience the 29th Annual Running Water Powwow Cherokee Homecoming & Ripe Corn Festival on September 1-2, 2018 at Ridge Ferry Park in Rome, Georgia. Join the hundreds of powwow participants: dancers, storytellers, craftsmen, and vendors who are heading back to Ridge Ferry Park on Riverside Parkway during the Labor Day weekend to take part in the annual Running Water Powwow.

Downtown Saturdays – The Unusual Suspects – Sept. 1 – Downtown Rome

Georgia’s Largest Hot Air Balloon Festival. Over 20 hot air balloons including special shaped balloons like the Purple People Eater, Tom and Jerry, Pepe Le Pew, Tweety Bird, Sylvester and more! Come on out and ride in a hot air balloon! The whole family can participate in tethered balloon rides! Enjoy hundreds of craft vendors.

Beatles ’68 with Kenny Howes and Friends – Sept. 15 – Rome City Auditorium

Kenny Howes and Friends celebrate fifty years of The Beatles with a live performance of a selection of the Fabs’ work from 1968, ranging from a wild collection of music released in a plain white cover to their biggest selling single, the first on their independent record label.

11th Annual Rome Beer Festival – Sept. 22 – Heritage Park

Rome Beer Fest was launched in 2008 as the first event of its kind in Rome, Georgia. The founders envisioned a way to celebrate the art of beer while raising money to support the Rome Area Council for the Arts (RACA).

2018 Georgia Mushroom Festival – Sept. 29 – Rolater Park, Cave Spring

The Georgia Mushroom Festival will feature Georgia mushroom growers and artisans from both Georgia and Alabama. Our emphasis is on educating the public about the “Wonderful World of Fungi”. Our dynamite mycologists will speak about different subjects with the wide field of mycology.

70th Annual Coosa Valley Fair – Oct. 2 – 6 – Coosa Valley Fairgrounds

It’s never really fall in Rome until the Coosa Valley Fair comes to town. With plenty of carnival games and rides, there’s something for the whole family at this Rome tradition!

Going Caching – Geocaching Mega Event – Haunted Mystries – Oct. 3 – 7 – Rome

Experience legends and lore that will give you goosebumps as you geocache your way around secret locations in the city of Rome, Georgia. Travel back to the 1890’s and don your best steampunk ghost-hunting attire as you attempt to tackle unsolved cases and other haunted mysteries.

Fiddlin Fest – Oct. 13 – Downtown Rome

Come fiddle between the rivers in historic downtown Rome with two stages of live entertainment and some of the best bluegrass music in the south! Musicians will also be located at various locations throughout the festival. Enjoy hayrides, car show, art vendors, shopping and food. Pickers are invited to bring a fiddle and join the fun!

Travis Tritt at Forum River Center – Oct. 19 – Forum River Center

Enjoy a special evening with Marietta, GA native and CMA and Grammy award-winning country artist, Travis Tritt. Closing in on what will be his third decade as a nationally recognized figure in music, the Southern-rock influenced artist continues to stay true and relevant to country music fans across the globe.

High Spirits Haunted Food Tour – Oct. 20 – Downtown Rome

With a mix of haunted history, indulge in a menu inspired by different spirits!

39th Annual John Wisdom Wagon Train – Oct 20 – Rome Fair Grounds

Revisit the heroic path of John Wisdom, known as “Georgia’s Paul Revere” who warned Rome of impending attack by Union forces in May of 1863. The 23-mile round trip begins and ends in Rome, Georgia where participants will camp at the fairgrounds and enjoy an evening of entertainment.

Where Romans Rest Cemetery Tours – Oct. 24 – Myrtle Hill Cemetery

Where Romans Rest is an annual guided tour of Myrtle Hill Cemetery with grave hosts along the way. Hear hidden secrets and untold stories of notable Romans from years past.

Rome International Film Festival – Nov. 1 – 4 – Downtown Rome

Selected as one of “20 film festivals worth the entry fee” by MovieMaker Magazine, the Rome International Film Festival (RIFF) is the premiere film event in Northwest Georgia.

RIFF welcomes films and filmmakers from around the globe to share the art of independent film with regional audiences, to entertain and enlighten festival attendees, to provide filmmakers the opportunity for professional networking and development, and to encourage cultural tourism and film industry development in Rome, Georgia and the surrounding area. RIFF goes above and beyond to make sure attending filmmakers have a great festival experience.

Ice Skating – Nov – Dec – Forum River Center

The South’s oldest symphony entertains with performances throughout the year and fall is one of their busiest seasons! Check out their full calendar of performances.

Rome Little Theatre – Fall Performances – Oct-Dec

Enjoy a local twist on the classic favorites of Alice in Wonderland and Scrooge The Musical.  Performances are held at the beautifully restored Historic DeSoto Theater.
