Shakespeare on the Green

Rome Shakespeare Festival – May 29 – June 10 – Downtown Rome

This year, there’s so many things to do for all ages, you might as well think Rome is changing from a Victorian District to an Elizabethan one!

Rome’s Big Float – June 2 – Coosa River

Now in its third year, Rome’s Big Float is challenging citizens of the upper Coosa basin and beyond to help us make history! We are going to attempt to set the world record for the world’s longest inner tube chain.

Clocktower Jazz Ensemble starring Curtis Reed – June 7 – Rome City Auditoriun

The fabulous Clocktower Jazz Ensemble, starring Curtis Reed, will perform a FREE family concert on at the Rome City Auditorium.

Southeast Aerobatic Championship Bear Creek Bash – June 7 – 9 – Richard B. Russell Airport

June 7th is a practice day, Competition flying will begin on Friday morning. So come out and see world-class competition pilots including the US Advanced Team before they they compete in the World Advanced Aerobatic Championship in Romania!

Rome River Jam – June 9 – Ridge Ferry Park

Rome largest music series starring Kane Brown, Riley Green and much more!

Cave Spring Arts Festival – June 9 – 10 – Rolater Park 

Browse through booths offering beautiful 2 and 3 dimensional art as you walk in Rolater Park where Indians played ball before they left on the Trail of Tears, now marked beside the Park. Enjoy a variety of vendors, eat lunch, go in the Cave , take a cool dip in the purported 2nd largest “swimming hole” in Georgia, see the 2-story log Cabin that belonged to Cherokee Avery Vann before 1838, visit upscale and antique shops in Cave Spring, Plan a lovely day driving through the lush valleys of Northwest Georgia to Cave Spring, only 16 miles from Rome and about 75 miles from Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Birmingham.

Please join us as we celebrate the hard work, creativity, and success of the 2017-2018 RLT Season with “A Summer Night to Remember” at our 2018 Gala at the Forum River Center!

Bee Fest – June 23 – Ridge Ferry Park – Free Event

Join us at the Farmers Market in Ridge Ferry Park for Bee Fest as we celebrate National Pollinator week! Come participate in a scavenger hunt, pollinator-themed crafts, and so much more!

Rolling on the Rivers Tours – July 1

Join us on our public cruise with a local historian on a fun ride to learn more about Rome’s Rivers!

To highlight Rome’s natural beauty, Downtown Rome will kickoff the day with the Kingfisher Classic fishing tournament, followed by the Chieftain’s Challenge paddle race. The race after-party at Bridge Point Plaza will begin at 5 p.m. with awards and then feature a FREE concert with summer vibes from Mario Davis. This celebration of our three rivers – the Oostanaula, Coosa, and Etowah – is created to encourage local citizens and visitors to take in the majesty of our rivers that run through downtown and enjoy our riverside walking paths and pedestrian bridges overlooking the race course. Of course, all of the downtown restaurants and shops will be available to eat and dine at all day.

Cave Spring Motorcycle Rally – July 27-28

If live music, motorcycles and beautiful country is your scene, then this motorcycle rally is the place to been seen.  Enjoy beautiful Cave Spring; stop at the downtown shops and restaurants for a full weekend of fun. RV camping is available; but be sure to reserve in advance.

Downtown Saturdays – Electric Avenue – August 4 – Downtown Rome – Free Event

August’s Downtown Rome Saturday will feature a FREE block party on Broad with live music from 7-10pm. Electric Avenue will be bringing back the 80’s all night long!
Electric Avenue has been invited to share stages with the likes of Pat Benatar, Kid Rock, and Jimmy Kimmel. They were also bestowed the honor of being the final band to ever perform at Turner Field. A private show for the Atlanta Braves and their Game Day Staff is not something this band takes lightly, let alone being allowed to run the bases!
