Coosa Valley Fair  Oct. 3 – 7

The Coosa Valley Fair marks the beginning of Fall for the residents of the Coosa Valley including Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama. Known as Fall’s Finest Festival, the Fair has been sponsored by the Exchange Club of Rome continuously since its founding in 1949.

Atlanta Rhythm Section Oct. 7

Atlanta Rhythm Section (ARS) has forged a successful career of over four decades, releasing countless albums in the process, see them live in the historic Rome City Auditorium.

Going Caching: Geocaching Mega Event  Oct. 4-8 FREE 

Join over a thousand geocachers from all over North America for 5 days of action packed geocaching events in Rome, Georgia October 4-8, 2017. The main event is Saturday October 7th. One of only 14 Mega-Events in the US, Going Caching enjoys its 8th year hosting geocachers for a theme-based series of geocaching events. This year’s theme is Spy Games. It’s free to join the fun.

Trout Unlimited Chili Cook-Off  Oct. 14 

It will be a day filled with music, fun, and of course, chili! From meek and mild to hot and wild, our chili cookoff features some of the best chili recipes around. We expect the 2017 Chili Cookoff to be one of our largest competitions to date, and with over 100 different chili teams competing for the title of this year’s “Chili Champ”. Live music on the stage and a playground for the kids!

Rome Little Theatre Presents – Fall Productions

Of Mice and Men Oct. 20 – 29,  tells the story of two displaced migrant ranch workers with an ambition of owning their own ranch, and the obstacles that stand in the way of that ambition. Get details on more upcoming shows and purchase tickets online.

Wings Over North Georgia Airshow Oct. 21 – 22

Come to the largest airshow in Northwest Georgia and see amazing aerobatic performances from world-class pilots including the famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the AeroShell Aerobatic Team and Rob Holland.

John Wisdom Wagon Train  Oct. 21 – 22

Saddle up for the 36th annual John Wisdom Wagon Train ride! Revisit the heroic path of John Wisdom, known as “Georgia’s Paul Revere” who warned Rome of impending attack by Union forces in May of 1863. The 23-mile round trip begins and ends in Rome, Georgia where participants will camp at the fairgrounds and enjoy an evening of entertainment. Wagon train admission will be $10 for each adult participating, and $5 for children ages 12 and under.

Crimson Renegades Oct. 21

The Crimson Sweet Renegades have been performing Classic Rock, Country, Southern Rock, Blues, Pop, Rhythm and Blues, and Popular Music for many years. Performing in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and Mississippi the Crimson Sweet Renegades like to play a variety of music genres. We like to call it “something for everyone,” giving equal passion and quality for every genre. Our song selection aims to please. We stick to the work we love so the passion comes through with every performance , every project, every moment.

Cave Spring Ghost Tours  Oct. 27-28

Get exclusive entry into the cave and areas around downtown Cave Spring with haunted tales guaranteed to spook. Although these stories are not explicit, the tour is intended for a more grown-up audience.

Chiaha Harvest Fair  Oct. 28 – 29

The Chiaha Harvest Fair celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014, reveling in a rich tradition of bringing together many talented artisans and craftsmen from the Rome/Floyd County region, and beyond, for a wonderful Fall weekend festival with the goal of raising money to support local art efforts throughout the year. That tradition continues in 2017!

Downtown Rome’s Guided Walking Tours – Civil War History Nov. 4

This year marks the 153rd Anniversary of Sherman’s March to the Sea. Learn why Sherman began his march in Rome and discover local landmarks that preserve our past during this walking tour through downtown.

Rome International Film Festival  Nov. 9 – 12

Founded in 2003, the Rome International Film Festival (RIFF) is northwest Georgia’s signature film festival event. Named as one of MovieMaker Magazine’s “top 20 festivals worth the submission fee,” RIFF is proud to have shared independent films from dozens of countries across the globe with thousands of film fans and filmmakers from near and far over the last 13 years.

ExploreGeorgia.org Songwriter Series Nov. 17

Come to Rome City Brewing Co on Nov. 17 for the 2nd annual Explore Georgia.org Songwriter Series, which will take place in six cities across the state from August through November. Each performance features multiple Georgia musicians in the places that inspire them. The final stop of the tour is in Georgia’s Rome, see Jordan RagerEric Dodd and Trea Landon live!
