 Kent Announced as New Director of Communications

ROME, GA. — City of Rome and Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau (GRCVB) announces Kristi Kent as the new Director of Communications.

Kristi is responsible for all media and marketing communications, planning and implementation for the Greater Rome Convention and Visitors Bureau and will work to support the GRCVB’s mission to strengthen the economic prosperity of the community through tourism development as well as provide public information services for the City of Rome.

Kent has over 14 years of marketing and communications experience where she has developed and implemented award winning marketing strategies. Most recently Kent served as Public Information Officer for Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority. Prior to this position, she served as Internet Marketing Manager for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution where she was responsible for strategic marketing management and direction of ajc.com brands.

Kent is originally from Atlanta, but relocated to Rome in 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Georgia State University. Kent sits on the Downtown Development Authority promotions committee. She’s active in the local art community, volunteers her time to Art&Soul – an art ministry she started and facilitates at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and is a member of the Rome Art Coterie.

“The tourism office is excited to welcome Kristi to our team ‘on the hill.’ The experience she brings to our team will serve to increase awareness and our community’s visibility to the multiple markets we serve”, said Lisa Smith, GRCVB Executive Director.

“Kristi will serve a valuable role in working to promote Rome City to our community to help increase public awareness and understanding of the services we offer”, said Sammy Rich, Rome City Manager.
