 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Downtown Rome to celebrate life of local artist

ROME, GA. — The Historic DeSoto Theatre Foundation in collaboration with Seven Hills Tellers, Rome Little Theatre and Greater Rome Convention and Visitors Bureau will present “Debby’s Midsummer Night’s Dream” on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 7 p.m. The evening will feature entertainment and auctions to celebrate local folk artist Debby Brown who died in May, 2013.

The memorial event will take place at the Historic DeSoto Theatre, located at 530 Broad Street. Admission is free.

“Debby’s Midsummer Night’s Dream” will feature three of the artist’s passions: storytelling, artwork and performances by the Rome Little Theatre. Auctions will feature the final original works of art by Brown and other local artists memorializing her legacy. All proceeds will benefit the family of Brown.

The Last Stop Gift Shop will host a special preview of Brown’s artwork on Wednesday, July 17th and Thursday, July 18th. The public is welcome to come by to preview the art from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
