Bar-B Farms to host Ride to Remember to benefit Veterans

ROME, GA. — Bar-B Farms will host the inaugural ACTHA Ride to Remember in Floyd County this weekend.

The American Competitive Horse Association (ACTHA) is an organization that promotes Competitive Trail Challenges throughout a multi-mile course. Participates ride on horseback and participate in challenges varying from jumps to trotting.

The 6-mile trail winds through the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and will take approximately 3 hours. The event will be followed by a dog contest and lunch.

Participants are welcome to camp on the farm Friday evening and enjoy chili, a bon-fire and camp music.

The event is sponsored by the Wrangler National Patriot Program and all proceeds will benefit the Horses for Heroes, a non-profit organization that works to provide horsemanship, wellness and recovery to Veterans and Active Military who have sustained physical injuries while serving the country.

Bar-B Farms is located between Rome and Cave Spring at 154 Bryant Road. The horse, pony and small animal farm was founded in 2011 by Randy and Kat Barbe.
